The Blinking Birch Puzzle Hunt 2025

Welcome to the 2025 Blinking Birch Puzzle Hunt!

This series of puzzles will test your brain and the depth of your indie TTRPG knowledge.

This puzzle hunt began on September 20th 2025 at 9am ET and was solved by the Blinking Birch Puzzle Hunt Discord server on September 20th 2025 at 8:32pm ET.

How This Works

• While called a "puzzle hunt", this series of puzzles also contains a heavy dose of scavenger hunt activities and indie TTRPG trivia.
• The links to each puzzle are at the bottom of this page. All players should start with Puzzle 01.
• The solution of each puzzle results in a question or phrase. Answering this question or solving the phrase will give you the password needed to unlock the next puzzle. All passwords are formatted as lowercase with no spaces.
• The answer to Puzzle 08 marks the completion of the hunt and unlocks The End.
• Each puzzle is a simple PDF. However, solving these puzzles will require looking through specific TTRPG books and may involve finding information online.
• This hunt is designed to be a collaborative, community activity. It is very difficult to attempt solo, as you might run into issues with not having access to the TTRPGs necessary for certain puzzles.
• Hint documents are available for those who still wish to attempt solo puzzling, who do not have access to certain game texts, or who simply want some extra help. These documents are available for download on each puzzle page. The final page of each hint document contains the solution.

Rules of the Hunt

• The hashtag for this puzzle hunt is #TTRPGPuzzleHunt2025. You are welcome to ask for help with the puzzles on social media so long as you use this hashtag (anyone who does not want spoilers can block the tag).
• Do not DM or tag the designers of games referenced in this hunt - they were not involved in the creation of this puzzle hunt and should not be bothered about hints, solutions, etc.
• Do not post information about the puzzles in the comment section below. Any comments referencing specific parts of the puzzles will be deleted.
• There might be ways to "skip steps" on some puzzles, or to solve the puzzles without gathering all information. That's ok - there's no wrong way to solve the puzzles.

The Discord Server

• As the initial puzzle hunt has concluded, the discord server is no longer active.
• There is a Discord server to encourage community collaboration with the puzzle hunt. It is open for anyone to join.
• You must read all of #welcome and #rules before posting in the server.
• There is a separate channel for each puzzle. These channels are for discussing and solving the puzzles, and thus will contain spoilers. You can mute the "2025 Puzzle Hunt" category if you do not want notifications from these channels.

From the Desk of the Puzzle Master

Hello! I've been wanting to make a puzzle hunt for years, and this was a lovely way for me to start small and simple. 

This hunt is stylistically basic and sometimes a little silly, with a final prize that is equally basic and silly. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I've enjoyed making it.

I'm not sure yet whether there will be a 2026 Puzzle Hunt, but I wanted to leave the possibility open. Time will tell!
